The Island Burger

This sirloin ground beef burger may not be for everyone but it is a favorite here at my home in sunny wonderful Florida! To make 4 burgers to grill, you’ll need 16 ounces-93/7 fat to meat ratio Sirloin Ground Beef (I get mine from the Meat Market). Round out your patties equally and salt and black pepper to taste. We love onion rolls by Cobblestone Bakeries (use any type of roll/bun that you prefer), you can lightly toast them on the grill if desired. We grill outside all year long, you can use an inside grill or griddle pan. I buy a whole cored pineapple fresh from my produce market and cut it in big round slices, they get grilled too!  I wrap one slice of bacon around each of the 4 pineapple slices and pop on the grill 2 minutes each side (or until bacon is sizzlin”!).

For the sauce: 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon ketchup, 1/2 jalapeno pepper (remove seeds) diced super finely, stir to mix well. Slather the top of the rolls/buns with the sauce. I also have romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced bell pepper, sliced onions, cheese, sliced avocado, additional pineapple slices all available to build the Island Burger! Now wrap your mouth around it and take a big bite! Yumified.

These without a doubt are a family favorite!

Hope you enjoy! Cheryl “Cheffie Cooks” Wiser.
