My family LOVES this easy dish. 8 ounces Bow Tie Pasta cooked al dente, rinse set aside. 8 ounces Ground Beef, 1/2 onion, grated, 20 ounce tomato sauce/marinara sauce, one teaspoon garlic salt, one teaspoon black pepper, saute ground beef crumble up as it cooks, remove excess grease add tomato sauce and seasonings, cook 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl add 3/4 cup corn meal, 1/2 cup self rising flour, pinch of salt, one beaten egg, 2 tablespoons melted butter (do not over-mix batter). Using a non stick baking dish add bow tie pasta and ground beef/tomato sauce mixture, stir gently, even out top with an offset spatula, add gently and carefully the corn bread batter, spread it out as evenly as possible. Pop into a 400 F oven and bake 20 minutes or until golden brown and corn bread is baked.
Plate and serve. We love this with a side garden salad. Yumified.
