Crazy good dip! One large white onion sliced, 2 tablespoons butter, salt and black pepper, to taste, 1/2 cup button mushrooms (clean, sliced), 4 strips bacon cooked crispy and cut into pieces, 4 ounces softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup grated Monterey Jack Cheese.
In a saute pan add butter, sliced onions and saute 10 minutes on medium high heat, add button mushrooms, salt and black pepper and continue cooking additional 8 minutes. Remove from heat. Once slightly cooled transfer to a mixing bowl, add crispy bacon pieces, softened cream cheese and stir with a sturdy spatula to well combine. Transfer to a non stick baking dish and smooth out the top, add grated cheese evenly to the top and pop into a 400 F oven for 6-8 minutes.
Serve warm with chips, bread slices, veggies.
