Fun pasta dish instead of spaghetti! Layered like lasagna but much easier to prepare! Cook Bow Tie pasta box per instructions (just to al dente), rinse, set aside to drain. In a 8″ x 8″ baking dish add 22 ounces of Marinara or tomato sauce. Grate mozzarella cheese (1 cup), grate fresh reggiano parmigiana (one cup), any other type of cheese grated that you like, I use white sharp aged cheddar (one cup). Divide cooked Bow Tie Pasta in thirds, layer in sauce (1/3) then add cheese, repeat another layer bow tie pasta then grated cheese, and the final layer, I use the mozzarella cheese grated as the top layer.
Cover with aluminum foil and place into a 375 F oven and bake 15 minutes, remove foil and bake for 5-7 minutes longer (to crisp up cheese). Garnish with flat leaf parsley chopped finely.
Serve with cheese sticks or Italian sliced bread and soft butter. I also make a mixed green salad with a light vinaigrette dressing.
Easy and flavorful well-rounded meal any weeknight!
