One of the first recipes made on Tasty Kitchen.com by a member (rated and reviewed) was this one I posted 2 years ago. I often make them when I am running late for a side vegetable. It is so easy, quick and delicious.
I use a 16 ounce bag of frozen French Style Green Beans, if you have trouble finding them at your local grocery freezer section you can use 15 ounce weight canned French Style Green Beans just rinsed them from the packing liquid as it contains a lot of sodium. One 10 ounce can of stewed tomatoes, you can opt to add sliced shallots, garlic, onions, black pepper to this recipe if you like them added. 2 cups parmesan cheese grated.
Uing frozen beans place them into an 8″ x 8″ baking dish, add stewed tomatoes and gently stir, add the other ingredients (onions, shallots or garlic, black pepper, if using), add any spices such as oregano, parsley or basil (your choice), smooth out the top and add parmesan cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a 400 F hot oven 15 minutes. If using canned French Style Green Beans cut bake time to 10 minutes (as they are already a softer consistency before being baked). You can elect to shut oven off remove foil and let the beans in the residual heat for 3-5 minutes to crisp up cheese.
It is so flavorful and a fun dish to make.
Hope you enjoy!
