Apple Cake Bake-Quick Dessert

Easy, filling and will warm you right up!! 3 whole apples, peeled, cored, sliced. 3 tablespoons sweet cream butter, 1-1/4 cup self-rising flour, 1/4 cup Quick Oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar, one large egg beaten, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, one teaspoon cinnamon, pinch of nutmeg, pinch of iodized salt.

In a food processor add brown sugar, Oats, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and run to combine. In a saute pan add butter once melted add apples slices and cook on medium heat until just tender.

In a mixing bowl using a hand mixer add flour, egg, and mix a few minutes. Add in the cooled cooked apples and hand stir to mix. Transfer to a non stick 8″ x 8″ baking dish smooth out batter with a spatula. Add canister of oats, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg mixture on top spreading it out evenly. Put into a 350 F oven and bake 20-22 minutes (insert a toothpick to make sure batter is cooked-should come out clean!).

Serve with cinnamon whipped cream, ice cream, frozen yogurt, or add some warm milk on top.

Serve warm and enjoy!!!

    • Hi Sheryl, yes it is! I made it the day before yesterday-and thought I’d share for my readers in the Mid Atlantic States getting slammed with snow! A warming dessert and quick. Most will be indoors for a day or two until they clear road systems, et cetera. You can use canned peaches as well!

  1. Yummy sounding Cuz. I’m definitely gonna gotta get more apples because that really sounds good. I’m pretty sure I’ve mined all the apple related products out of my fridge and pantry now, except for the small jar of apple butter I have left from my last batch. HUGZ. Angie
