We love these sandwiches on the weekend. Using a nice sub roll either lightly toasted or not. One pound Italian Sweet Sausage (Large Links in casing), one onion sliced, one bell pepper (remove seeds) sliced, 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, salt and black pepper to taste. One cup marinara sauce, one cup smoked mozzarella cheese grated.
In a large saute pan add olive oil on medium heat, add sliced onions and bell pepper saute until tender remove from saute pan on to a dish. Add Italian sweet sausages and cook 15-18 minutes , add back the onions and bell peppers and saute together 4-5 minutes add marinara sauce on low heat and cook 5-6minutes. Cut sub rolls open add sausage and some onion & peppers and smoked mozzarella cheese on top. Serve and devour.
