Great side dish with Ham, Beef, Pork. My family loves vegetables and this is an alternative to the traditional “Green Bean casserole” that they also love!
One pound (16 ounces) fresh whole green beans (Can use frozen if desired), 1 cup vegetable stock low sodium, 1 cup light cream -1/2 teaspoon corn starch mix with light cream, 1 teaspoon black pepper, (salt to taste), 1 cup almond slivers. In a 8″ x 8″ non stick baking dish add vegetable stock and light cream-1/2 teaspoon corn starch-mix with light cream, black pepper and stir well. Add whole green beans and stir again gently. Cover with lid or aluminum foil and place in a 375 F hot oven on the middle rack. Bake 15 minutes covered, remove foil and bake additional 5 minutes. Garnish with almond slivers. Note: You can lightly toast almonds in a small pan on low heat (do not burn them!).
